A is for Adventure

Updated: Mar 15

From Archery to Zipwires, Devon & Cornwall have pretty much every activity you can think of to try so if you're looking to try something a little more adventurous this holiday, here's a few ideas....

For family fun, there's the aquatic obstacle course at North Devon Wake Park either on its own or as part of a trip to The Milky Way (one of the most popular North Devon family attractions). There's also the Monster Slip n Slide which runs at Widemouth Bay during the summer. If you don't mind getting a bit dirty then why not try some quad biking or paintball?

For the adrenalin junkies - you can try the zipwire at the Eden project or take a trip to Adrenalin Quarry for more zipwires, aerial swings or maybe some axe throwing! And with the coast and moors nearby, the area is perfect for rock-climbing and coasteering. If you're an experienced climber then popular routes can be found online at UK Climbing, but even beginners can try their hand safely with companies such as Shoreline or Saltwater Safari at Bude. On a rainy day, you can try the Barn indoor climbing wall near Tavistock

If you like to take things at a slightly slower pace, then a Segway tour might be just the thing! - you'll get to enjoy some beautiful sea views at the same time. Or how about paddle boarding or canoeing - a great way to explore Bude canal and its wildlife without raising the heart rate too much!

Looking for something to do on a rainy day?

Why not learn a new skill or perhaps enjoy a tasting tour!

You can try your hand at pottery, fused glass, mosaics to name just a few.

Or for the grown ups, a tour of the local vineyards and distilleries!
