Holsworthy is a traditional agricultural market town, with a pannier market in the square and a livestock market on the outskirts of town (both held on a Wednesday)

Annual celebrations include the Holsworthy & Stratton agricultural show, St Peter’s Fair week and the carnival in November.

There is a leisure centre with swimming pool and a park with a new children’s play area. The free museum is located by the main car park, opposite the tourist information office.

Directions

Turn right out of the cottages towards Pyworthy and continue up the hill, straight through the village. At the bottom of the hill turn left. The first right turn will take you to Waitrose. The road will otherwise take you to the town centre.

Bude

Bude is a popular seaside town, with plenty of activities for all the family. With Bude’s canal, beaches and sea pool, there is something for everyone. The Castle, Bude has a museum & gallery and there are events held on The Castle Green all through the year. A very popular farmers market is held on the wharf every Friday during the summer. Annual events include Bude Jazz week, Bude Food Festival & Bude & Stratton Heritage Festival.

Directions

Turn left out of the cottages. At the cross roads turn left. Continue through Bridgerule until you come to the main Bude / Launceston road (B3254). Turn right and then turn left at the next main road (Red post). Follow this road through Stratton until you meet the main A39. Turn left and then the next right (opposite the Veterinary Surgery), this road will take you into the town centre.
